GroundTruth is a next-generation news platform that combines the speed of AI with the rigor of evidence-based journalism. Every article published on GroundTruth is processed through our grounding pipeline, which cross-references claims against verified sources and assigns a grounding score from 0 to 100.
Each story receives one of three grounding labels based on our AI analysis:
A Grounded story has every major claim verified against at least two independent primary sources. Our AI confirms that the facts, quotes, and figures can be traced to Reuters, AP News, Bloomberg, The Guardian, or other tier-1 outlets.
A Partially Grounded story contains verified core facts but may include commentary, analysis, or early-stage information that cannot yet be independently confirmed.
An Unverified story is published for transparency but has not yet passed our full verification pipeline. These stories are flagged prominently and updated as more information becomes available.
GroundTruth covers seven beats: Politics, Tech, Finance, Consumer, Social and Culture, Science and Health, and Sports. Each desk applies the same grounding standards with domain-specific source networks.
